The spectral lights begin as a kit of parts consisting of several faces, an armature and many fasteners. As the parts are combined, shades with unique ethereal qualities and unexpected forms emerge. The parts are meant to engage the user in a creative act: one part puzzle solving and one part sculptural investigation. The intention behind this is to create an object whose inherent value surpasses the value of its materials by creating a connection and increased sense of ownership between the object and the user. Furthermore, as many forms can be created from a set amount of pieces, the spectral lights can be rebuilt as per the desire of the user, and multiple kits can be combined to increase the formal possibilities
